Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

We are getting light snow - blowing around and very windy. Sticking on grass but not road so far. It is 2 PM and the snow started just as I climbed back into the car at Jones Beach. I took a birder who lives in Brooklyn out this AM in spite of the weather because her goal for the year was to see 200 species in New York State and she was stuck at 196. By doing Jones Beach and Point Lookout we were able to add 4 to her list and get her to 200 and not a minute too soon as the blowing snow/sleet picket up just as we walked out of the dunes onto the parking lot. I was rewarded for doing the favor as I also got a life bird (King Eider - sea duck) this morning so I am at 252 for the year. Am tempted to go back and get one of those birds right away tomorrow as it is a rarity in this area. Plus there is a pink-footed goose in Queens which seems to be a pretty easy 'get' so I might start off the year with a couple of species which are hard ones to get.
Happy New Year!
We awoke to 12 inches of snow! Seems strange after a few days of 50+ degrees
We had a wonderful Christmas, there were many smiling faces throughout our 3 days of celebration. We were elated to have Dad arrive. in relationship to that, this morning when Caleb's nose was bleeding for the 4th time in 6 days, he announced that he may need to go to the hospital for a transfusion since his nose keeps bleeding. (:p

Busy week!

It has been a busy week of travel, family, and fun. I think we are all tired and ready for a nap.
Dad made it to Rochester on Christmas morning. It was great to see him!
We had dinner with the Parks family tonight and got to see Briton.
Guy and I are driving home tomorrow. We are hoping the cats did not trash the house.
Love to all!

Update on Kenny

Hi Y'all-
Got a text message this morning from Dad. He said "Everything is good". He is getting moved to a regular room. He said maybe he can go home tomorrow.

The hospital is Virtua Memorial Hospital. Phone# 609-267-0700
I am not sure when this morning he is getting moved but if you call, they will tell you what room he is in.

He was able to text me but maybe no signal for phone call.

He will probably not be spending Christmas in Rochester this year. :(

The Start of it all

Dad is in the hospital. We were informed from a friend via email. It took us 2 hours but we found him and he is going to be ok.

We can't let this type of thing happen again.

The family, the whole family, needs to know what is going on. No more, "I don't want to worry you." No more, "It is embarrassing." No more.

Lets keep everyone informed through this blog.

We are all one family and we need to stick together. Period.
